About hypnosis itself

Yes, the whole time. Hypnosis is not sleep. It is a relaxed, focused state, like being absorbed in a good book. You can hear me, talk, and stop anytime. I cannot make you do anything you do not want to.

No. That is stage hypnosis, which is entertainment. What I do is clinical hypnotherapy, completely different. No party tricks, no embarrassment, just a focused state where we shift patterns your conscious mind has struggled with.

Around 95% of people can. The biggest predictor is not intelligence or willpower, it is willingness to engage. Skeptical but open is plenty. Most who think they "can't be hypnotised" are surprised how easy it is.

Most describe it as deeply relaxed, like the state right before falling asleep. You are aware of everything, just calm and focused. Some feel light, some heavy, some do not feel "different" at all. All normal.

Hypnotherapy is one of the safest modalities. Side effects are rare and mild, mostly feeling deeply relaxed afterwards. I am trained to work safely with trauma and anxiety, and I refer on if a presentation needs a different specialism.

About the work

Talk therapy works mostly with the conscious mind. Hypnotherapy works with the subconscious, where habits and patterns live. CBT is brilliant for thought work; hypnotherapy is better for shifting the patterns generating those thoughts. Many clients use both.

Most clients see real shifts in 3 to 6 sessions. Smoking cessation often takes 1 to 2. Complex trauma can take longer. We set expectations on the free call, so you know what you are committing to before you book.

First we talk for 15 to 20 minutes about where you are and what we are working on. Then I guide you into a relaxed state for 30 to 40 minutes of the actual work. We finish with a few minutes to integrate. Sessions are 75 to 90 minutes total.

Yes, about half my clients are online via video, and it works just as well as in-person for most issues. The one exception is hypnobirthing partner work, where I prefer in-person. Online clients welcome nationwide.

Honest answer: hypnotherapy is not 100%. If after 3 sessions we are not seeing meaningful movement, I will adjust the approach or refer you on. I would rather you get the right help than be my client forever.

Practicalities

Pricing and package options depend on what you are working on, so they are covered openly on your free call. Most issues take 3 to 6 sessions; stop smoking is usually one longer session. You will know exactly what it costs before you book.

Yes. Pay one session at a time, or book a package upfront. If cost is a barrier and you genuinely want this work, talk to me on the call.

48 hours notice for a full refund or reschedule. Less than 48 hours and the session is charged. Same-day cancellations only refunded in genuine emergencies, at my judgment.

Only if you tell them. I keep notes for my own clinical practice but they are confidential and never shared without your written consent.
